We were all pretty heart broken to find out about my Grandpa Christensen's passing on the last day of our cruise. I am so lucky to have been raised in his company. I couldn't have asked for a more supportive and caring grandfather and am so grateful for the knowledge I have that I will again see him. I know that he is in a better place and that he will continue to watch over me.

The funeral services were very nice. My aunt, cousin, and dad all gave such great talks and multiple cousins sang and did a really lovely violin and cello number. It was a nice way to celebrate the life he lived! My grandfather always served full heartedly in church callings and in professional settings. I will always look up to him! Here are a few pictures from his viewing and funeral.

My family all wore red for my grandpa's funeral. It looked really nice and made for a great picture. My grandpa was also taken up to the graveside in his companies old truck. It was really special and neat to see all the men, wearing one of his red ties, carrying his casket.

Bahammas

Tyson and I went with my family during our Christmas vacation to the Bahamas on a cruise. It was very relaxing and we had such a great time. We para sailed, rode scooters around Key West, and sang karaoke on the ship. Oh, and I almost forgot, I won 40 dollars on a slot machine which paid for mine and my families Pina Coladas that night!! One of my favorite parts was the ships private island Coco Cay. We got to lay out in the sun, para sail, and swim in the ocean, it was sooooo.... great! I keep dreaming I am still there and then unfortunately I wake up, darn it! Here are some highlights from the trip.

This was our first day in Miami. It was a bit nippy which is why we're all bundled up. We took a tour out to Biscayne Bay which is a national park. It is the northern most island that is part of the keys. It was very beautiful!! It was also manatee season in the bay so I was hoping we would see some wild Manatees but none were in sight:( We also toured a lighthouse on the island.

That night we boarded our ship, The Majesty of the Seas. Man is it easy to get lost on a ship that size! We had great dinners every night and sat with such a fun family from Michigan. Day one of the cruise was spent in the Bahamas. We took a tour with a native ( he was great), shopped at the straw market, toured some of the Atlantis hotel (what a sight) and laid on the beach!

On day 2 of the cruise we were in Coco Cay. What a beautiful, beautiful island in the middle of nowhere. We para sailed this day, did a little snorkeling, and had a big barbecue with lots of fresh pineapple- my favorite!!

The last day of our cruise was spent in Key West, Florida. What a cute tourist spot! We visited the most Southern part of the United States, ate some delicious key lime pie, rode our awesome scooters, and even saw president Truman's Key West home.

Tyson and I love love love our magic bullet. My sister Shellie bought it for us for Christmas and we smoothie it up multiple times a week. Tyson has become quit the pro. He could really give Jamba Juice a run for their money. Tonight he made a chocolate and berry smoothie that might sound strange but just typing about it makes my mouth water. Delicious!

Demo Derby

This weekend Tyson and I went to the Cache County demolition derby. Neither of us have gone to one since high school and man have I forgotten what a good time it is. I mean who doesn't enjoy watching trucks and cars slam into each other? I didn't choose any of the winning cars this time but there was some pretty sweet colliding going on. My sister's Brooke and Paige were with us for the weekend and they have never been to a derby so I helped broaden their horizons buy experiencing the all American derby. If you've never been, I would highly recommend it! Our good friends Sunny and Derek came too.

My sister Brooke graduated from BYU-I just this last month. She majored in History with a minor in music and she is very glad to be done. She isn't loving the job hunting phase of life now but something will pop up for her. Here are our cute pictures from the graduation and the celebration before and after:)

Projects

Tyson and I had a list of things that we wanted to get done this Summer and we had great success this last week to get all of our painting projects done. We painted our four kitchen chairs blue ( which turned out great) and our kitchen bench the same matching color. I should have taken some before pictures but just imagine it all torn up and falling apart and you'll get the picture.

Tyson then took on the big project of stripping, sanding, and then painting our bedroom dresser which really needed a lot of TLC but it turned out great! I love my husband for the handy-man that he his. We then re- painted our nightstand the same color. Here are a few pictures of what we've done, enjoy!

Oops, I almost forgot about the valances my mom helped me make. They are also in our kitchen and they also turned out great, especially since I have zero sewing abilities. Cuter pillows are also being made for my bench. I love that I can finally start decorating things, it's great!

East Canyon

During the last week of July we were able to go on our last Summer boating trip up to East Canyon. We had lots of fun, soaked up the sun, and even got to go horse back riding. Brooke had the stubborn horse and the poor thing only had one eye. We stayed at the East Canyon Resort which was fun. They have a nice swimming pool, tennis courts, miniature golf, and even shuffle board which I happened to be very good at. Tyson is still trying to talk my parents into taking us boating one more time, he just isn't ready to give it up yet! The water at this reservoir was so nice with hardly any choppiness so we had some great rides on the wake board. Paige even got into the water a few times and we took her on a very mellow banana ride. It was the first time she's gotten to be wet this summer!

McCall

I have officially three weeks until I am back to work. Tyson and I have enjoyed our Summer so much. We are so lucky to have family and friends that we got to share our adventures with this Summer.

In July Tyson and I went with his parents up to McCall Idaho for 4 days. We stayed in my uncles cabin and soaked it all in. We went golfing, biking, rafting, and did a little shopping. It was a great trip, one of the best this summer. Our rafting trip was down the Salmon River. The rapids were great that day and we had a really fun guide which made it even better. I loved the golf course as well and received the best score I've ever gotten on 18 holes, I think I'm ready to take on Tiger!

City of Sand

We went on a great trip just this last week. We went down to Moab with my family and our camping buddies. My family along with the Bird and Beckstead Families have been going on these trips for 13 years now! Pretty cool right? This year we drove down to Moab and toured Canyonlands National Park. What a beautiful place!! I am so lucky to live in Utah by such amazing National Parks. We also did a day rafting trip down the Colorado River. We left at 9 in the morning and were on the river until about 4. We had some great rapids because the water was so high.It was just a great relaxing trip enjoyed by all:)

I have successfully completed my 1st year of teaching. I will really miss my group of first graders but am excited to meet and get to know my next batch of 6 year olds. We took our last class picture together so I just have to show off how cute and silly they are.

This last weekend during Memorial Day Tyson and I had a once in a lifetime experience. We both got to race on bullet bikes down at Miller Motorsports Park. Our mom, Jami, works down there so she signed us up to ride with the pro's around the race track. I was told that we got up to 140 mph. Man what a rush! I can't even explain the feeling of riding a motorcycle that fast. I am pretty proud of myself because things like this really freak me out but I really would have regretted it If I didn't end up committing.

That same day Dodge had a big booth where they had their Viper, Charger, and Challenger. It was free to the public and we had VIP passes so we each got to ride in once of the cars and drift around a small track. Another great experience! They also built a new off road course for Jeeping so we also joined in on the fun there. I had never done this as well so It was crazy going over the boulders and going straight down a cliff on the nose of the Jeep.

If anyone ever gets the chance to head out to the Miller Motorsports Park I would highly recommend it!! That night they also had Stix's, Kansas, and Foreigner perform. It was super crowded but I loved that music. I think that honestly Kansas was my favorite out of all the bands.

I was able to go to prom this weekend. I mean I was able to go watch prom this weekend. Shellie went to her junior prom which is always a very exciting time in a young high school girls life. She went with Skyler Holt who is just a little cutie. Shell had a gorgeous tangerine gown topped off with the best hair there that night, I only say that because I did it! But it was dang good:)

Shellie was also prom chair this year so she planned the whole shin dig. The prom song and theme was Do you Believe in Magic? and the decorations were really pretty. I thought she did an excellent job. She is glad to have it over and done with now though. She also won Prom Duchess that night, so congrats to my sis Shell.

Hi everyone! I finally have a update that I can post pictures with. We've had a great January and February thus far. We've been able to play in the snow, celebrate Tyson's birthday, and spend a lovely Valentines day together.

I posted a pictures of the cupcake cake that I created for Tyson's birthday. I found a picture online of this really cool guitar cupcake cake. It was much fancier than mine but I was very happy with how my turned out. It was pretty yummy too if I do say so myself:)

The first week of February we had the chance to spend a day on the slopes, also to celebrate Ty's birthday. Tyson hasn't been boarding all winter so he was very very giddy about the whole idea. I for one, was very nervous, because I have never tried snowboarding before. Let's just say I spent most of the day on my butt and not on the slopes. After about two hours I was exhausted and slept in the car while Tyson continued boarding with his best bud Chase. I am glad he let me tag a long though so that I can at least say I've tried it. He was a great teacher and stayed very very patient with me. My sister Shellie also came, her first time too, but she even showed me up. I think she is more likely to stick with it than I am.

Valentines weekend was fun! Our stake had a festive dance. We met up with some friends there, ate some yummy pasta, and danced our little hearts out. Tyson was very thoughtful and gave me a gift certificate to get a massage, which I am really looking forward too. I am already planning on using it here soon. We hope that everyone also had a great Valentines day!

An early Christmas present

Well... here is our exciting news. Is everyone ready for this?

We moved! Into a great new three bedroom town home that we both LOVE. We feel very blessed and lucky to have found such a great, much bigger, place for a decent price. We've been here since Thanksgiving break and so far have no complaints.

It was fun to set our tree and stockings up for Christmas too. I am finally getting into the Christmas spirit now that we've had a real snow storm. We hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Tyson's lap top has been in the shop, because he cracked the screen, so now that it is back I thought I would use it to update our blog! We've had an exciting, yet stressful, fall so far.

I finally have a real teaching job! I am teaching 1st grade in Fielding Utah which is near Tremonton Utah. I am enjoying it most days and pulling my hair out other days. It really is a great job and I am so blessed to have found one a month into the start of school. I have 27 students and work with great faculty and staff.

Tyson is still plugging away in school. His classes are a little more challenging this semester but he's hanging in there. He will have his minor completed by next semester in Business Accounting and then will go on to get his major in software development.

My family came up a week ago to go to the fun North Logan pumpkin walk. I haven't missed it any of the years that I've lived in Logan and it was great fun this year too. I have been telling my mom to come to it for a long time so she finally did. We ended up taking some great pictures, I have to say that the Michael Jackson scene was the best!

We didn't do much halloween night because Tyson had to work. I did dress up Friday at school as Hermione ( from Harry Potter) and then Tyson wore the same costume, with a few changes, on Halloween when he went to work. He was Harry Potter.

Pineview

It's been a while since I've updated so I thought I would take advantage of my free time tonight to post a few pictures of our last summer fling. My parents rented a condo up in Huntsville Utah for two nights so that would could go boating before we started school/ work again. We boated for three days, visited the monastery, and played some tennis. It was a great time! I now love the town of Huntsville too. There are such cute homes there and it's such a quaint little town.

The Run

Well happy late 4th of July to everyone! The fourth has always been my favorite holiday. I just love the sun, the fireworks, the BBQ food, and being with my fun family. This year Tyson and I along with his dad Dave , my three younger sisters, and 15 of my cousins ran in the Tooele 4th of July 5K. It is my third time doing it ( only because of the insentive from my grandfather). It turned out to be a lot of fun even though two of my younger siblings beat me:( At least I did it right?

We went and saw the Nitty, Gritty, Dirt Band perform that night. They were a little out dated, but who doesn't love their hit, Fishin in the Dark? The whole concert was worth it just for that one song. Afterwards, Tooele City put on a great firework show that was very enjoyable. It was a great weekend, one that won't be forgotten!

I finally did it everyone! I am a college graduate. It was a pretty exciting day spent with my great family and close friends. Thanks to everyone who has given me such warm wishes. Here are a few pictures of me wearing my beautiful cap and gown.

I am still hunting for jobs. It hasn't been very promising yet but I will not give up. Someone has to want me, right? Let me know if anyone hears of any teacher openings in the Cache valley or Box Elder districts.

Talon's mission and easter weekend

Well, we sent cute little Talon off on his mission yesterday. It was such a cool experience for me because I have no brothers and thought I would never get have the MTC experience. It was such a neat day to be at the MTC and to have felt the spirit. It was such a bitter sweet moment but I am so excited and proud of Talon. He is going to rock the Puebla Mexico Mission! Tyson and I both can't wait to get our first letter.

home to Tooele for a great Easter weekend. We had a great dinner with mine and Ty's family and then broke open a cute pinata my sister

Shellie made, had an easter egg hunt with cousins, and headed back up to Logan.

I was glad that I still got my own easter basket! I was sure that once I became a married woman that the easter fun would end but I was wrong, Thanks for remembering me Easter Bunny!

Quick Update

Well... things have been moving right along for both Tyson and I. I finished my student teaching and now am hired to finish out the semester with the kids! I can't even describe how excited I am. It is great to finally have a job that is in my area of expertise.

Talon ( Tyson's younger brother) had his mission farewell yesterday. He is leaving for Puebla (sp) Mexico on April 15th. He gave a great talk and we are both super excited and proud of him. I left my camera in Tooele so pictures of the farewell and family gathering will be attached soon.
